Various folks have raised a grump at the current Call of Duty game. So I continue to keep an eye out for a ww2 alternative.
The game I played with Lord and Bullitt a few weeks back was interesting but I don't think it would have been much more than a week's alternative for us as a group. (Enlisted was it's name and it's other redeeming feature was it's free!)

Hell let loose is a pretty nice looking old style game. Sniper's are limited to 2 on each team. Teams are made of multiple squads up to a side of 50.
Weapons are authentic (in so far as they hit hard and there's no auto health regen - you can bandage if you've got them) You get a squad of six made up of different classes with each class having a specific specialised item, so for example only engineers get and can use anti tank weapons. It's said to be more realistic than cod but less than say Arma. You don't for example get fancy sights - and for all cod's faults, I wonder if the iron sights in the game would be too restrictive for us. I think you'd need good eye sight or a large monitor. (and even then...)





Like Enlisted though it is not an AAA title and lacks the budget of more arcade like games.

I'm not saying it's what we should do next. I'm merely putting it forward as something to consider.
I've seen it available on different sites for anywhere between 20 to 30 quid.

For all the irritations in CoD, It's still the game I like and prefer.
I had high hopes for the new Battlefield too, but it looks like they dropped the ball on that.
