I'm asking this not to stir up problems but because I know of at least 3 clan members not interested in the upcoming BO. Our numbers are not so huge these days that we can ignore that this game might be the one to break us. We may need to be actively looking for something else in the same vein that would interest all of us and not just assume that BO is it. |

Well, I'll be getting BO6. That aside there aren't many alternatives to CoD - do a search - most of them are ancient. Xdefiant is probably the closest, free to play too, but no hardcore mode yet. Battlefield 2042 came out in 2021 and won't be replaced until 2025. Wouldn't mind having a go with that when it happens. |

Yeah, I have to admit that looking for alternatives does not pull up much in the same vein. There are a number out there that have nice graphics and are solid ww2 games, but most are more in line with BF for the size of the maps. Squad Squad 44 (previously known as Postscriptum) BF2042 This was just a quick trawl, but as you can see they are all less gloss and much bigger maps. More war sim than perhaps what we want. |

What I haved always liked about CoD games (all of 'em, even the less "good" versions) is that you can dive in and play a 10-15 minute match. Whilst I ahve enjoyed Battlefield versions in the past, playing on huge large maps and for longer tends to grate on me sometimes. Edit: So on balance I'll be getting BO6, but only for the delightful company of TS.

We have dabbled, to a greater or lesser extent, with several other games in the past. Just looking through an old disk, these are the ones I have saved info for: A lot of them are early 2000s when CoD was on a 2 year release cycle. Battlefield 2, 3, 4, V, Bad Company 2 Far Cry FEAR HALO MoH: Airborne, Warfighter Quake - ET: Quake Wars, Q4 Red Orchestra 1, 2 SWAT4 Titanfall 1, 2 Unreal Tournament (UT 2003) We may have tried the original Team Fortress (HL) as well. I've bought the game. It's CoD and we know (and sometimes hate) it. Better the devil you know than a JW.
