So I just got myself this.

At least at first few uses it seems to be a great help.
Temp varies roughly between 30 -50 degrees. But I've only had it on 30 and found it made gaming much less a lesson in numb fingers.

Have you tried playing games indoors?
I wrap my hands round a hot mug of coffee then shout at the mouse & keyboard.

I am indoors, but reluctant to have the central heating on for the whole house when I am usually only occupying one room (at least at a time).
I have been using fingerless gloves up till now which work ok. But the heated mat is a treat.

Maybe invest is a modest-sized, plug-in electric heater?

Have one, but it heats the room. Hands on cold plastic keyboard and mouse = cold hands.

Ah. That invokes memories of playing in a garage in winter with a two-bar fire burning my legs while the rest of me waits to catch up.
