So, further to Bullitt and Lordy’s recommendation I downloaded (20gb) this free game, still in beta, and had a go on Sunday afternoon and evening. Here are my thoughts on it.

First and foremost I liked it and will be playing more of it.

Lordy compared it to cod 2 x battlefield and I can see where he’s coming from.
It’s not as perfect as a triple A game, bears some collision issues, and your ai team have kamikaze instincts.
And yet, it’s fun, as the majority of troop weapons are rifles it’s a slower game with time for tactics etc.
Also in the 6 or so hours I played it I came across maybe 2 cheats.
You have squads with say 5 characters in, each time you die you respawn in one of your current squad characters.
Therefore it’s worthwhile finding a safe spot near the action to get your squad to hole up at.
There are a limited number of vehicles and planes. There are No kill streak rewards.

You can level up your individual characters, your squads, your characters, weapons, equipment etc.

Oh and the maps are gorgeous.
